Using Waypoints

Want to mark important spots on your trail? Learn how to add, edit, and delete waypoints to highlight key moments and locations while recording your trail.

Note: Waypoints are a new feature introduced in version 3.2.0. This version is currently available in beta testing and will soon be released to all users.

Waypoints are a great way to mark important events or locations along your trail. While recording a trail, you can place a waypoint at any time at your current location.
When sharing a trail as a GPX file, all waypoints from that trail will be included and exported as well.

This page provides an overview of how to add, edit, and delete waypoints.

Adding Waypoints

Waypoints can be added to both runner and dog trails. You can add them at any time during recording. The waypoint will be placed exactly at your current GPS position.

  1. Start recording a runner or dog trail.
  2. To place a waypoint, use the [ICON:add_location_alt] button in the bottom-right corner of the screen. You have two options for adding a waypoint:
    • Tap the button to add a waypoint at your current location and immediately edit its details (name, icon, etc.).
    • Long-press the button to add a waypoint at your current location without editing details. This allows you to quickly add a waypoint and modify it later.

Once added, the waypoint will appear on the map.

Editing Waypoints

You can edit waypoints at any time from the trail details view.

  1. Open the trail that contains the waypoint you want to edit.
  2. In the top-right corner, select the option to edit waypoints. Depending on your device:
    • Either choose the [ICON:more_vert] > Edit Waypoints option,
    • Or press the [ICON:edit_location_alt] icon directly.
  3. In the sheet that appears, locate the waypoint you wish to edit and tap the [ICON:edit] button next to it.
  4. Update the waypoint’s information and tap Save.

Deleting Waypoints

Deleting a waypoint works the same way as editing one.

  1. Open the trail that contains the waypoint you want to delete.
  2. In the top-right corner, select Edit Waypoints (via [ICON:more_vert] or [ICON:edit_location_alt]).
  3. In the sheet that opens, locate the waypoint you wish to remove and tap the [ICON:edit] icon next to it.
  4. In the edit sheet, tap [ICON:delete] in the bottom right corner to remove the waypoint.
